Sometimes, life to me feels like the old Magic Eye posters. I had a whole book of them. I remember it was dark red, paperback, with a slick cover. I remember the feel of it in my hands. I guess I spent a lot of time looking at those posters. I would stare at each page as long as it took for the image to pop out at me. And then, it was so clear, so unbelievably clear, I wondered how in the world I didn’t see it in the first place. Just there it is, clear as day. I would do this over and over again. I would see how long I could keep my gaze at that exact setting, and then I’d take a look around. Looking around the page while I still had this clarity, in all the noise. I saw the truth for a minute, and it was, well, like magic.
Well, I’m finding life is sort of like that. We should remember not to get lost in the noise, in the distractions. The truth is right before our eyes. Sometimes, you think it’s a fish jumping out of water, and it turns out being a whole dang horse. Don’t let your expectation of what it’s supposed to look like ruin the whole experience. Just keep your eyes set to see the magic in everything, look beyond the noise; and when everything is clear, live in that truth, and hold it, as long as you can.
